Harrington Limousine Service Celebrates 100^th Anniversary

(Edison, New Jersey- Feb. 1, 2023) Harrington Limousine Service (HLS) is celebrating 100 years of providing the best in luxury transportation services during the month of February. To honor its century of family-owned and operated transportation services, HLS is offering extra savings on services booked throughout the month.

Launched in 1923, HLS was founded as Wilner’s Livery Service, Inc., by Alex Wilner. He started out driving customers in Pierce Arrows and Packard Limousines. His main point of operation was a telephone pole located at the Perth Amboy Railroad Station. Wilner’s Livery Service offered a strong blend of personal chauffeured service as well as funeral livery services.

Before long, Alex’s son, David, joined the family business as well. Together, they built Wilner’s Livery Service into New Jersey’s largest funeral livery. This included acquiring Staten Island Funeral Livery to extend Wilner’s Livery Service across the Hudson River. This meant the company was able to expand its services into both Staten Island and Brooklyn, New York.

In 1974, David Wilner acquired A. Harrington Limousine Service (HLS). Harrington had a rich tradition of offering the finest in luxury transportation services to the “elite New Jersey business traveler.” David Wilner has moved the company forward, providing attentive service, quality vehicles, and more options for luxury transportation from sedans to modern limousines.

Now operated by David’s son, Jonathan Wilner, the third-generation of owners, the company continues to offer the best in luxury transportation. Jonathan has continued the tradition of personalized service and has added innovative ideas to exceed client expectations.
